| The Housekeeping Staff at Scotland County Memorial Hospital are dedicated to the hospital mission: “caring for you when you need us” and they continue to be a very important component when it comes to patient-care and comfort. Housekeeping is responsible for maintaining the outstanding sanitary conditions you'll find at SCMH, which also includes several rooms, departments, and buildings in addition to the hospital building itself. Professionals within their own right, the housekeeping department maintains some of the cleanest rooms, hallways, emergency suites and many other departments you'll find anywhere. When you have a facility that is open 24 hours per day, and there are patients & staff with activities of daily living going on constantly ... the term "housekeeping" takes on an entirely different connotation. There are hundreds and hundreds of yards of gleaming floor surfaces at SCMH, Memphis Medical Services, Lancaster Medical Services, and Wayconda Medical Services , all of which are maintained by the Housekeeping staff. There are specialty areas in the hospital such as the operating suites which require a special cleaning system exclusive to surgical procedures and unique to the hospital environment. The days of buffing the floor and wiping down the walls has evolved into a modern technical system of sanitation with a high standard healthcare regulations. Daily the housekeeping department is presented with challenges that they eagerly meet, and the housekeeping staff always fulfills their obligations with a cheerful smile, and pleasant attitude. |
